It is through disobedience that progress has been made, through disobedience and through rebellion. Use appropriate examples from your reading, experience, or observations to support your argument. For a creature that has only been around for tiny portion of time, man has many virtues.

However, I must agree with Mr. It is the original thought and action that progresses our world, write an essay that argues your position on the extent to which wildes claims are valid. In other words, disobedience drives social progress. Major disobediences have happened in the past many times, but the most socially valuable examples would be the Revolutionary War and the Protestant Reformation. These two major events changed the social chemistry of the world, and those effects can still be felt today.

The American Revolutionary War was a war that started with disobedience and a list. Our founding fathers felt that the colonies in the New World had no real representation in the British Government, specifically the Parliament. At the time, the King was charging absurdly high taxes on commonly used items that used to be very cheap. He also forced people to house and feed British soldiers, criminalized manufacturing, and many other actions that could very well be considered war crimes today.

After a while, the founding fathers and many people of the colonies had had enough. However, the founding fathers had the courage to disobey the British Crown, which was the largest empire in the world at the time, and write a list. This list was a list of grievances, complete with a message about seceding from the British Empire and forming a new country: The United States of America. Today, we know that list as the Declaration of Independence U.

Without that document and the disobedience that helped create it, the United States, as we know it, would not exist. If we go back in time even further, we can find another major revolution that started with disobedience: The Protestant Reformation. The Church, and by extension the Pope, guaranteed entrance into Purgatory, but only if you bought the slip of paper Purgatory is a state of purification after death.

Think of it as a waiting room for Heaven. They lined up to buy these passes, unaware that they were being carefully conned out of their hard earned savings. After a while, one German write an essay that argues your position on the extent to which wildes claims are valid finally saw what was happening and decided to act. He also sent it to the Archbishop of Mainz, a man known as Albert of Brandenburg.

These two actions, or rather disobediences, led to the restructuring of the Christian religion as a whole and a rush of new ideologies from people trying to worship God in their own way. Some feel that free will is the original virtue. However, most virtues are a result of disobedience. Free will can be seen as disobeying God.

Temperance is a disobedience of your own desires. Courage is a disobedience of logic. The list goes on. However, the point must still be made that disobedience is the starting point of all other virtues. It is the original virtue. The definition of a virtue is a trait or quality that is deemed morally good. While disobedience might seem like a horrible, noncompliant action at first, it is actually the foundation of our moral fiber not just as a society, but as individuals.

Disobedience individualizes us and can change our lives, and the lives of others, just like in these examples. There are other major events, such as the Renaissance which was the systematic disobedience of scholars around the world toward the churchthat were instrumental in building our world today. However, the fact still remains: disobedience is the original virtue. I'm skeptical about things.
